A leading Las Vegas business publication named Dr. Kate Zhong as the region’s top tech innovator for healthcare in 2015 for her work in spearheading the Cleveland Clinic Healthy Brains initiative, an innovative digital platform to accelerate clinical trial enrollment and to engage the community to become involved with a brain healthy life style.
By choosing to be engaged through HealthyBrains.org and its companion app, thousands of people are making a difference in their lives and the lives of loved ones. They are making use of technology to access news about Alzheimer’s research, test their brain health, take control of their destinies through the Six Pillars of Brain Health, and track progress on an individualized brain health dashboard.
The awards sponsored by Cox Communications, Bloomberg TV, and Vegas Inc. recognized leaders in the Las Vegas-area’s fast-growing technology sector in areas such as education, nonprofit, government, and the resort industry. Judges called Dr. Zhong’s work “groundbreaking” and “first of its kind,” but she said the honor belongs to those who have supported HealthyBrains.org since its debut in the spring.
“This award goes out to thousands of our participants who signed up on the website, chose to get a brain check-up, and volunteered to participate in clinical trials,” she said. “We are grateful for your support, together we are making strides in creating the brain span that matches our life span, and to make what happens in Las Vegas benefit the rest of the world.”
