TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More

Eat Smart and Stay ConnectedHealthyBrains culminated Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month by amplifying the message of good nutrition and brain health by working together with Three Square and University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.

You’re Never Too Old to Learn Something New

Over 75 Seniors in the Las Vegas community enjoyed classes designed to engage at least 3 pillars of brain health: Healthy Eating, Learning and Socializing.

These classes, held at three Ovation Properties included:

  • A Mediterranean-style lunch and olive oil provided by Three Square
  • A cooking demonstration, brain healthy recipe and healthy fats presentation by UNR Collaborative Extension
  • A presentation of the “6 Pillars of Brain Health” including brain health checkups by Cleveland Clinic HealthyBrains

Delivering Brain Health

Thanks to the tremendous effort of Three Square Senior Share Program, nearly 800 food insecure Seniors in the Las Vegas community received Cleveland Clinic Brain Health Guides, a box of nutritious food and a special bottle of olive oil to help Seniors remember that a healthy brain begins with good nutrition.

HealthyBrains is honored to work alongside Three Square and University of Nevada Cooperative Extension to magnify the message of brain health and good nutrition.

Raise your hand! Volunteering is good for your community and your brain health.  Seek volunteer opportunities in your area to help you stay connected and feel rewarded by giving your special talents to others. A life with purpose has been shown to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s.
